Retirees (and spouses/surviving spouses) in the United States and Canada
The Red Tab Foundation’s retiree program assists thousands of Levi Strauss & Co. retirees and their spouses living on modest incomes. Grants are often provided for basic necessities that retirees would not be able to afford otherwise. The most common requests:
- Eyeglasses
- Hearing aids
- Critical dental work (extractions, partials and/or dentures)
In addition to basic necessities, retirees may also qualify for emergency assistance due to an unexpected financial emergency. Examples of qualifying emergencies include:
- Small scale natural disasters or catastrophes that leave the retiree’s home uninhabitable (e.g. fire, gas explosion, flood)
- Critical home repairs required for health and/or safety purposes (e.g. leaking, handicap accessories)
- Illness or injury of a spouse, child, or the retiree him/herself
- Death of a spouse, child, or the retiree him/herself
- Inability to pay for winter heating expense
Eligibility
- Retiree of LS&Co. (qualify for retiree medical and/or Rx drug benefit)
- Spouses and surviving spouses of retirees
- Former employees with a minimum of 20 years of service are eligible
